Abstract
This chapter examines Abraham Kuyper’s attitude toward public entertainment. Though remembered for proclaiming Christ’s lordship over every square inch of human culture, Kuyper was sharply critical of the commercial entertainment of his day. The chapter reconstructs his critique of the entertainment industry and asks what his ambivalence means for neo-Calvinist engagement with popular culture.
