Abstract
This chapter in Karl Barth and American Evangelicalism asks whether Karl Barth’s theology rests on a transcendental argument. Examining Barth’s relation to the neo-Kantian philosophy of his formative years, it considers what role experience plays in his doctrine of revelation and what is at stake in the question for the evangelical reception of Barth.
