Text Mining in Business Libraries

Business research increasingly draws on text-mining techniques. This article provides a brief survey of text-mining applications in business school research, describes the steps and life cycle of text-mining projects, and presents a text-mining case study from the Vanderbilt University Library and the Owen Graduate School of Management. The authors offer suggestions for how libraries and librarians can build the skills and services needed to partner with researchers and support text-mining research.
