Abstract
This article takes up the problem of psychologism in Karl Barth’s doctrine of sanctification: how can sanctification be described as a real change in the human subject without reducing God’s action to psychological experience? It examines how Barth’s handling of this problem reflects his engagement with the philosophical critiques of psychologism of his day.
